This DIY camera dolly is a little different from the P+S Technik original Mini Skater Dolly, but you can get some pretty nice motion shots with it. The first test was done very quick, so the focus can be better after some practice and some marks on the floor.
This first version is made out of 5 mm aluminum, and 25 mm massive aluminum rods, if you want to build one for a DSLR like the Canon 5d Mark II or 7d, you can use lighter materials, but the weight will give you a steady ride…
I bought used Bogen/Manfrotto 501 fluid head that will support both DSLR and Bigger HD cams with ease.
